Template Help

What is a Template?

Templates are Twig files that define how content is displayed on your website. They control the layout, structure, and presentation of your objects and collections.

Whitelabel Templates

Total CMS looks for several special built-in templates for common use cases. These templates must have a specific naming convention and be placed in the correct directory structure. For example: `whitelabel/login-above`. See the whitelabel documentation for a full list of built-in templates and their purposes.

Custom Templates

These are templates you have created. You can modify or delete them. Templates can be organized into folders for better management. You can add new templates by clicking the "+ New Template" button at the bottom of the page.

Template Organization

Use folders to organize your templates by purpose or section. For example, you might have folders like "grids", "pages", or "components". Folders are created automatically when you specify a folder path when saving a template.
